Ferry for the Stars

Tonight we took the Star Ferry across the water from Hong Kong island to Kowloon island. It was amzaing to see the city lit up from the water and although the trip only lasted for 7 minutes it was definitely something I would recommend doing if you are ever in Hong Kong.

Once over in Kowloon, we went in search of the famous Night Market, which fills a street and is open until midnight. This is the place to come if you want any, ahem, "designer" goods. Rolexes for £20 and so on, but for the most part it was too touristy for us and was just the usual tat we have seen all across China. Hong Kong seems to be the place to come for shopping, but we have found the markets to be too tacky and the main stores are the same ones we have back home, at the same prices. I guess that's the price of a global market. However we have found so much else to do here that you can completely ignore the shopping side if you want to, which is fine by us.
