Today we left Guilin and travelled down the Li River to Yangshou, a small town of just 60,000 people - Still sounds like a lot to me, but I'm assured that this counts as tiny. The Li River offers some of the most amazing scenery in all of China and it certainly lived up to the hype. We both loved it and its been the highlight of the trip so far, our only gripe being that it was just so very, very busy. Unfortunately we have arrived in China just at the height of the domestic tourism season, so everywhere we go is at its most busy period. But nevermind, though not as tranquil as we had hoped for it was still stunningly beautiful. We had a very Chinese buffet for lunch which we later discovered was cooked in what looked like an open air kitchen in the back of the boat, much like anything you find being sold as street food. I'm sure we will suffer for that tomorrow! We took a lot of photos, so prepare yourselves for a lot of mountain shots...
As I sit here writing this, I glanced over out of the hotel window and this is what I saw. Just thought Id share that with you. Right, we are off to find some dinner, and its not going to be the KFC next door...
